Leeds Group Ramblers

part of West Riding Area Ramblers

Join us on our walks

We are part of "The Ramblers" what used to be known as The Ramblers Association. The Ramblers Association was founded on 1st January 1935 and has dedicated itself since then to protecting our network of footpaths and campaigning for the interests of walkers.

There are many walking clubs and most are just that. Walking clubs.

The Ramblers are different. The Ramblers actively campaign to keep our rights of way open. Officers from Leeds Ramblers attend many planning meetings and visit sites to ensure the rights of walkers are not overlooked.

West Riding Area web site is here

We have a programme of led walks usually on a Saturday. We look forward to meeting you on one of our walks. Even if you are not a member of The Ramblers you are welcome to walk with us a few times. We hope you will enjoy the experience and eventually become members of The Ramblers.

How do I join a walk?  Simple, just turn up at the start.  That's all there is to it. You will see a list of our walks on the left. Click on one to see full details

It would be helpful if you could read the article called "what to expect" self explanatory really. It will give you more detail about how our walks are run

This new regulation comes into force on 25th May and has substantial impact on how The Ramblers can contact you.  If you haven't received your walks programme or West Riding Rambler newsletter or seem to have stopped receiving emails then this may be why.  In the past our 6 monthly printed walks programme was sent to every Ramblers member in the West Riding area. From the 25th May We must have your specific permission to send it to you. If there is something you haven't received then please email us at This email address is being protected from spambots.
